I have been running around like a mad man getting ready to participate in my first art fair in years. This one definitely ended up better than the first one I did in St. Louis. This time I built portable walls and holders for prints so people can flip through them. The main stay of my booth were my bird paintings and the last piece of my previous body of work titled “The Kiss”, which you can find in the painting section. I sold two pieces which will help pay some bills and had several really good talks with people. The art fair was in Kingspoint park which overlooks the river in Sleepy Hollow, but you have to enter the subdivision of Philipsburgh Manor to get to the park, so not a lot of people actually know about it.

The art fair went along with the local towns celebration of the anniversary of Henry Hudson sailing up the Hudson River before it was named the Hudson River, and I guess he got as far as Albany before the river gets too shallow and narrow to sail his boat. For the festivities they also brought out reproductions of ships that would be around during that time such as the one I have photos of here. It came out around 3pm and fired a shot from the fake cannon and scared the living you know what out of me. It was pretty spectacular to see it though, especially when there where a bunch of modern barges and ships in the river as well.
